Desventajas: Staff was not able to answer to most of the questions and didn t care about taxis they called for us (no double checking the price for example)

Desventajas: Decoracion colonial preciosa Ciudad sucia , sin aceras , ruidosa , peligrosa ...

Ventajas: Room was big and comfortable and the front desk was helpful.

Desventajas: The restaurant was a mess. Disorganized. Slow. Arrogant staff.

Ventajas: Beautiful property and decor, very friendly and helpful staff, amazing restaurant (we ate there four nights out of four!), great WiFi, very nice and very clean rooms, delicious breakfast, easily walkable to the cute hills of Tana and tourist sights. An absolute gem and the perfect place to reboot after a week of touring through the countryside. Highly recommend!

Ventajas: Fantástico lugar para alojarte en Madagascar. La decoración, el personal, la limpieza, la ubicación y el encanto que tiene el hotel merece la pena...

Desventajas: Nada

Desventajas: The hotel do not accept credit card prepayment- the agent had to set up a bank transfer but the bank details were incorrect twice which delayed the process. Need a better payment system

Ventajas: Beautiful and spacious, luxurious rooms. Interesting decor. Kind staff.

Desventajas: Nothing! It was lovely.

Ventajas: We stayed here en route from the north of Madagascar to the south. It is a treasure. The rooms are excellent. The yard is full of classic cars the hotel public areas full of old lamps, clocks, brass things, memorabilia, phone switchboards old street signs.The bar has loads of very good single malts. The dinner we had was the best of our holiday by far. Paris standard. The only thing we didn't like was the party of 25 russians singing maudlin songs next door.

Ventajas: El Hotel es muy bonito. Tiene mucho encanto y un mirador para ver la puesta de sol. La comida del restaurante está riquísima. Está a cinco minutos andando el palacio presidencial y el palacio de la reina.

Ventajas: This hotel has exceptional panoramic views of the city. There was a lovely shared balcony attached to my room as well as the dining terrace. The gardens were beautiful as was the decor. Staff was excellent.

Desventajas: Cleanliness of my room could have been a bit better.

Ventajas: Location is good. The view is perfect. Restaurant is good.

Desventajas: The toilet is in bedding room. Furniture is very old.

Ventajas: Everything was above and beyond perfect! Friendly staff, good wifi, comfortable bed, and secure area.

Ventajas: Amazing view, stylish interior, very good food , nice staff

Ventajas: Room #2 was magnificent & the omelet with bacon was super nice as was the fruit, bread, and coffee. The Punjabi Butter Chicken was also excellent. The safe was friendly, helpful, and help arranged a car to the airport. The driver was on time, spoke English well, and was a very safe driver.

Desventajas: Sadly, the local sweet wine was not of good taste or quality :( but also not expensive.

Desventajas: My reservation said pool view, but room overlooked parking lot. Bathroom sink would never drain, so I had to completely remove stopper to let water out.

Ventajas: The property is in a really good location. There are a number of shops nearby if you want to pick up something. It also has a good restaurant.

Desventajas: Nothing.

Ventajas: I liked the location, the hotel was set up in a very western fashion which is difficult to find throughout Madagascar.

Desventajas: On our arrival we were to have them pick us up at the airport, for some reason we were not on their scheduled pick up, but we saw their van at the airport and they took us to the hotel.

Ventajas: near a shopping mall

Ventajas: The the overall facility is very appealing, appearance and landscaping are very attractive, the rooms are great, the restaurant was very good, but the best thing about the Relais Des Plateaux is the staff. Everyone we encountered was pleasant, accommodating, and very friendly despite the fact the we are English speakers in a mostly French place. This is a quiet oasis surrounded by the glorious chaos of Tana.

Desventajas: I can't think of anything I didn't like.

Ventajas: The reception staff were excellent.They were all very professional and welcoming. They accommodated all our requests. The restaurant/ pool area was a nice space and the food was of a good quality. We used the hotel as a base in Antananarivo to travel the country and this worked extremely well because the reception staff/porters and transfer service were all very efficient. We stayed a total of 4 nights and each time the transfer service was at the airport/hotel promptly.

Desventajas: The only slight criticism we had was that the bathrooms could do with an upgrade in the room.

Ventajas: Very convenient location if you travel to/from Ivato airport.it is a bit of an walled enclave, an island of peace in the commercial buzzing district. Staff is exceptionally kind, smiling and client friendly.

Desventajas: Nothing as such

Ventajas: Only 12 minutes from airport. Manager was helpful after problems described below. Restaurant very good and excellent value. Nice pool. Rooms generally fine.

Desventajas: Arrived at 1am, so weren't pleased that we were taken to SEVEN rooms before we found one that had been cleaned. Night manager was clueless. Again, the night staff were told of our flight time for our return to the hotel two weeks later, but they forgot to pick us up and seemed totally clueless as to what was going on.

Ventajas: Upon arrival, I was greeted with a refreshing and tasty drink. The room is clean, spacious and comfortable. The bathroom is great. The outdoor area with the pool is great too. It has an airport shuttle and is free.

Desventajas: At breakfast, nothing is protected against the flies. There's a lot in this place and it's not hygienic. The scrambled egg is not good, it has a mixture with another ingredient and the croassaint isn't either.

Desventajas: Me dieron mi cuarto recién a las 2 pm cuando el check in era a las 12. Fue un mal comienzo.

Ventajas: Staff were very attentive and smiling. Keep it up. Celestin - kitchen staff was very caring. Secured location.

Desventajas: The menu was ok no more no less. Lots of flies at breakfast, suggestion could be to have the food covered as I did not feel safe to touch the cheese and ham.

Ventajas: Extremely comfortable beds. Close to everything. Enjoyed the spa.

Desventajas: Did not like the constant smell of air freshener in our room. Quite expensive taxi fares when organised by the hotel, you can easily get a taxi right outside for half the price.

Desventajas: The person doing my checking could not handle my credit cards for 10 mins. After several failures, one more experienced staff did it all in a minute and left to greet other customers. The Checking person then charged my account with more than double to what it should hv been so much so that when i checked out, the hotel was still owing me a huge amount of money.

Ventajas: Clean, helpful stuff and great location

Desventajas: Couldn’t open windows as too much mosquitoes..

Ventajas: Buen desayuno y en general un restaurante correcto. Muy buen servicio de masajes. Ubicación céntrica para poder conocer un poco de la ciudad.

Desventajas: Tuvimos algún problema con el personal ya que solicitamos un late checkout (disponible con mi usuario) que fue confirmado por el hotel, sin embargo a la mañana de salida sufrimos mucha presión por abandonar la habitación por parte del personal y tuvimos que demostrar la confirmación del propio hotel. Destacar que el espacio de la piscina es bastante limitado.

Ventajas: There is need for massive rennovations.. the dark old corridor carpets etc. Breakfast is also not up to standard. Very helpful and cheerful staff.

Desventajas: Staff have very good attitude

Desventajas: The staff was very helpful especially Mirana and the light skinned gym coach were very helpful to me and my husband. The cocktails weren't good need improvement. I always drink hot milk in the night but sometimes I would go warm my milk and one lady at the bar would give me an attitude. The house keeping ladies they were fantastic.

Ventajas: Nice breakfast buffet - friendly staff and central location, the room was very clean, good services (gym, beautycare)

Desventajas: No opportunity for suntanning or relaxing as the space around the swimming pool is quite limited, construction work during the entire day

Ventajas: Sin duda la atención de la jefa de recepción o encargada del hotel (no recordamos el nombre y nos sabe super mal), pero nos ayudó en todo, sobretodo a planificar nuestro viaje a Morondava. El hotel es super limpio y pese a ser sencillo, todos los detalles y servicio de camareros, limpieza y atención en recepción es digno de un 5 estrellas.

Ventajas: The super-efficient, English-speaking staff are very friendly and always smiling -- in all areas of the hotel. On several stays here during my month in Madagascar I was invariably made to feel very welcome. Thank you, Grand Mellis staff! My room was clean, good bathroom, aircon works fine, Wifi not bad, breakfast selection reasonable. There's a small swimming pool. Both Indian and Western food are available. Everything I tried was delicious.

Desventajas: The restaurant is only open at meal times -- not ideal for weirdos like myself who eat only whenever they get hungry.

Ventajas: Great oasis in Tana. Older hotel, but rooms were all updated and very comfortable. Nice spa if you need some time to relax or recover.

Desventajas: Smoking smell The toilet at the entrance and far Deon the bathroom One water bottle on arrival for a room with two people

Ventajas: The spa with steam room, sauna, pool and workout area was great. Spacious business suite was ideal, beautiful view, perfect location etc

Desventajas: The elliptical (only one) was broken.

Desventajas: Room upon check in was located opposite construction work. Constant hammering from 6am till 7pm by 6 construction workers. When i asked to move they only proposed to upgrade at a cost to the new wing. I was only given another standard room after our business partners in Tana spoke to management.

Ventajas: Great location, clean

Ventajas: Having been to a chain of Ibis hotels across the globe, this one had bigger rooms and a lot of space in all aspects. The staff were very profession and warm.

Ventajas: More options for breakfast. Availability of ironing option in room.

Desventajas: Pool closed for private function Very expensive airport transfers. Much cheaper to get a taxi.

Ventajas: Room was extra clean. Front desk staff very helpful when requested to make transportation arrangements

Desventajas: No bathroom essentials ( shower gel, soap etc). The cleaning staff might have forgotten to replenish.

Ventajas: Excellent staff. Great food, comfortable beds.

Desventajas: The AC didn't seem to work very well.

Ventajas: The staff, especially on the front desk, were excellent. Friendly, helpful and happy.

Ventajas: Nothing - Rating 2.9 based on me being seriously :( about everything other than the location (which was just ok) is not right. This should have a rating from me of 0.5.

Desventajas: Check in: Took 30 minutes (no queue), broken printer, the staff weren't around, locals were pestering us the whole time and whispering about us making us feel uneasy. Apparently we were given an upgrade! Room: It was on a building site which shook the room, mosquito nets had whole (windows don't close), wires stuck out form power outlets, no running water, no hot water, it was full of local workers. Sleep: None Without water and the noise we had no choice but to leave after the first awful night. We asked for our money back for the following night (not the bad night we endured). The receptionist said it wasn't possible, he asked the boss (who never appeared) and after 30 minutes of saying the hotel had no cash anywhere we had no choice but to leave. He wanted to try and delay us even longer when he realised we would complain to booking.com but we had given him 3 chances before this and he kept saying 5 minutes, 5 minutes. We were again pestered by locals and we stood feeling really unsafe in the door of the hotel. This hotel should not be on this website, the reviews cannot be real.

Ventajas: El mejor desayuno de Madagascar, en cantidad y calidad. Buen trato del personal.

Desventajas: La puerta de habitaciones daba directamente al patio, justo enfrente del restaurante/discoteca. Muy caro para lo que ofrece

Ventajas: The food was OK! The stuff in lounge/restaurant was nice.

Desventajas: Everything else! REALLY IMPORTANT TO KNOW: - smoking is allowed everywhere! Also in restaurant and room. I smoke but I don’t need it in sleepingroom and restaurant! - they tried to get 25€ for taxi, don’t reserve by hotel! Choose a taxi by yourself, it will be costs only 10.000 ar (12€) to the airport. In addition: - stuff on reception was really naughty! They didn’t know that I speak french... - Not much light in room - bed was very dirty - bathroom was very dirty! (Toilette and shower) - nothing in room, just bed and a little table. - everywhere smoking smell we booked directly another hotel, so we just stayed for 1 day

Desventajas: I booked the room with breakfast included. I even had with me a mail from the hotel that explicitly stated that breakfast was included. Despite of this, i was told upon arrival that i could not get free breakfast. Further, the room itself was well cleaned, but, the corridor was a construction site. Warm water was also not always available.

Ventajas: Booked one room and sleep on 3 rooms during my stay, why?

Desventajas: Changing of rooms

Ventajas: Very good location, hotel has its own restaurant on the top floor, good prices and delicious meals. Breakfast was included in the price and was good. Just keep in mind that they start to serve supper only at 19:00. Staff was really nice and friendly, room was clean, hot water, fan, hairdryer, tv and electric kettle in the room..

Desventajas: They offered a taxi which we assumed would be a good price it was double what we found out the price should have been. Then when we did not have enough cash they offered to accept euros and did not accept at the exchange rate but at 700ar less to the euro! Absolutely astounded. Very disappointed with this hotel, kept trying to get us to pay more and charge more all the time. Made us feel very uncomfortable. There were also lots of insects in the room and even saw a cockroach. Would not recommend.

Ventajas: Me gustó la ubicación y tiene un buen precio acorde a la calidad y servicios que ofrece. El desayuno está incluido y es muy completo.

Desventajas: No me gustó que después de estar alojados durante bastante tiempo, crearon una nueva norma en la que tenías que pagar cada semana. Cada vez que pasaba por recepción me pedían que pagara, no esperaban a que pagara al final de nuestra estancia cuando ya habíamos estado allí varias veces y evidentemente había liquidado la cuenta a su debido tiempo. Esto no me pareció bien, me dio sensación de desconfianza por su parte. Por otro lado teníamos una gotera en el baño y avisamos de esto varias veces y no hicieron nada. También las sábanas y cortinas estaban en un estado de desgarre, aunque no tengo queja del servicio de limpieza, eran impecables, pero las sábanas necesitan renovación.

Ventajas: Clean, friendly staff, great breakfast venue on rooftop.

Desventajas: No bedside lamps in my room.

Ventajas: Muy tranquilo y muy cómodo. Limpio, buena ubicación y el personal muy simpático. El desayuno es superior y la comida en el restaurante está muy buena y tiene un precio razonable.

Desventajas: Puede que aparezca algún insecto de repente pero aquí es casi inevitable

Ventajas: el personal del hotel, camareros, limpieza, los chicos que te ayudan con la maleta son muy majos.

Desventajas: La comida del restaurante es poco variada, fue el unico hotel de Madagascar que nos costó más caro reservando allí directamente que por internet.

Ventajas: Buen desayuno y habitaciones muy limpias.

Desventajas: La zona por la noche era sospechosa.

Ventajas: El colchón era cómodo.

Desventajas: Solo entrar en la habitación había 2 cucarachas y mosquitos. Esto ya nos hizo estar mal toda la noche. El desayuno estaba incluido, pero como el día siguiente nos teníamos que ir pronto, antes de que lo sirvieran, no nos lo quisieron poner para llevar. La habitación es diminuta, las sábanas y toallas muy viejas y medio rotas.
