Staff were helpful and pleasant.
Quiet location. Clean & tidy room. Nice restaurant to breakfast in the following morning. Lack of carparking at the actual hotel made it slightly difficult for me to transport my gear to and from hotel, and also left me slightly worried about leaving my car parked on side street in unfamiliar area.
most things and the bar and coffee area was very peaceful and relaxing and cosy in the morning not worth commenting because it was not adverse just things in the room & bathroom need to be upgraded and better air flow in warmer weather
The staff were efficient and very friendly The rooms were not quite sound proofed. Could hear traffic noise and hallway noise.
The location as I was in for the cricket and the general helpfulnes of the staff
The beds were comfortable, The hotel was reasonably close to the city centre. costlly valet parking, staff unprofessional, room very small, no wardrobe, only a small fan in room, no view, small window opened to fire escape, with exit sign above window. For an advertised four star hotel the reception area was small and uninviting. We paid $144 NZ for the night and represented very poor value compared with all the other hotels we stayed in during three weeks in New...
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and clean and the hotel facilities everything we were looking for.
Greatr service from front office, bar and restaurant staff and the Duty Manager Tony was just great- nothing I wanted was a problem at all
Heritage facade on building and walking distance to centre of town. Staff were helpful and well informed. Room was cramped, very warm, no air conditioner and the fan provided did not work. No view at all. Location was great but very disappointed with our room there.
Very friendly and helpful staff at reception. No windows....
The decor, cleanliness, location and the staff were wonderful we only stayed one night I could happily stay for a week Not at all.
This is a very new and well-furnished facility. It is convenient to downtown and the university/hospital. The owners are on-site and very helpful. We thoroughly our stay in this lovely inn. None
We were welcome warmly and shown to our room, every where I looked the place was clean and tidy. In fact I noted the hotel manage manicuring the buxus hedging with a pair of scissors... that sort of attention to detail shows a clear pride in their establishment. That we did not have time to stay longer and enjoy the facilities.
The location is excellent being within walking distance of shops and restaurants. Very convenient. The laundry machine is a combined washer and dryer in one unit. It only does a very small load and this very small load takes hours to dry properly.
We came to go to the casino and we liked the location of the hotel and atmosphere at the casino. Just like the Chch casino used to be before all of the changes. No
shopped, saw a movie, checked a restaurant, went walking, went to the casino no
Staff attitude towards their guests The lack of ability to use the stairs when going up to upper floorsLeft a feedback form in the bedroom
Very good quality of room, hotel, and service including parking service. Nothing
With the exception of one of your staff, the staff were excellent. I use a wheelchair and because the hotel is not all the amenities arew accessable, the staff were very helpful, especially the doorman. However, a dark haired young woman on reception expected me to breakfast alone and away from other conference delegates because the breakfast venue was not accessable for people in wheelchairs. She made me feel embarrassed, undervalued and definitely not included. The poor access for people in wheelchairs.
Good location right in the centre of town. Poor service by reception staff. Casino attached to hotel.
The staff were very friendly and helpful The hotel itself was quite nice but its location seems to be in the poorer end of town with a long walk to anything that might have been worth seeing in Dunedin?
Friendly staff and casino
nice cosy, warm room ,nicely furnished, good size, comfort bed, centraly located, nice and helpful staf.
Close to Botanical Gardens, bright and quiet. Dated plumbing. Unable to close curtains on door for privacy when locking up from outside.
Staff were very hospitable and eager to help with information. Honestly, the bathroom and kitchen need an upgrade.
We arrived late at night, motellier rang asking about arrival time and that they had left heaters on in unit and to let ourselves in; very cosey on arrival and we appreciated the personal touch. Unit impeccably clean with comfortable beds.
It was so lovely and quiet, 'folksie', and clean The bed and pillows were 'tired'.
i really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and the great staff
That this hotel was central city so was in walking distance to the centre, restaurants and bars. The supermarket was also a short distance away. The picture was deceptive in the sense that it was not the part of the main building.
The hotel was centrally located with good parking facilities. Our room was quite spacious with a sofa and adequate king size bed and a firm mattress, which is important for me since I have had back problems and need to sleep on a firm mattress. The hotel itself was quite dated and could have used an upgrade on decor, carpeting, etc. It is a trade-off of price for value.
Great room and bathroom (exec double). Good city center location The building was a bit shabby on the outside and the public spaces - the room itself was great
The location is perfect for the city center walk. The lift is old but it works.
the location of the motel to most city facilities. The security of the motel and being able to leave the window open during the night. no complaints at all
Great service, location and friendly staff. Everything you could want in the heart of Dunedin.
The staff are wonderful, helpful and they go out of their way to make you feel at home. We liked everything but it is a four star hotel not a five star facility.
The views from our corner room were stunning. All the staff we spoke with were super friendly and helpful especially Winifred. Dinner in the castle dining room was a very special experience and the food was excellent. Our room was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Breakfast was in the stables which was also special and delicious. Would definitely stay there again. There was nothing I didn't like about staying at Larnach Castle.
We stayed in a lodge room and had dinner at the Castle. We enjoyed our stay. The grounds were beautiful, breakfast great and staff very helpful. The internet is quick and the room well equipped with a great view of the harbor. We had stayed here years ago when the stables were the only accomodations and was nice also. We did see the Camp Estates from the road ,but did not see what the rooms looked like. It is down the road so you would need to drive to the Castle as it is too far to walk. The dinner was for 26 people so it was held in the piano room not the dining room. It was better when it was a smaller group years ago and in the dining room. Now that there are more lodging rooms the dinners are larger. This is because if you stay here you have the opportunity to dine in the Castle It did seem that they needed more help serving as tea and coffee was not served until more than half the guests had left. Also the history of the house and family was not done until most people had left. the staff mentioned that they were working three rooms at once.
It was such a comfortable stay in a beautiful location. It was lovely and quiet, but with close access to nice cafes and an awesome beach My only disapointment was that I believed that the room we had booked had a balcony, which it did not ?. Part of our enjoyment would have been to be able to sit on the balcony and enjoy an evening drink and/or breakfast te following day, especially as the weather was so beautiful.
Rooms lovely and spacious, very tidy and clean, not far from city centre, heaters worked well
Close to the botanic gardens which was a bonus. Bit close to main road
Plenty of parking, pleasant grounds and location on edge of city by botanical gardens with balcony in room No air conditioning / stuffy rooms in summer.
Modern, updated, clean, and economically priced room. Was quite noisy -- backs on the highway
Comfortable accomodation and friendly staff located slightly away from the city centre area of Dunedin.
Wasn't what we expected. The only thing we liked was the location. It was very dated. Very old and had a funny smell. We didn't enjoy our stay and were glad we only booked one night!
I really enjoyed the view of the gardens outside my window/door and it was close to where I needed to be and it was affordable and nice.
The main dining room was spartan in decor, if we had not been so tired we would have eaten out as the environment felt like a businessman's canteen with restaurant prices.
Lovely setting right by Dunedin gardens and university buildings. A bit quieter than all the motels on George St especially since it was graduation weekend and rather a busy weekend. Would definitely stay again.
Very comfortable. Appreciated the handicap equipped room.
The Lodge is lovely! Our room was phenomenal, large and very well appointed. Breakfast was exceptional and made to order. The owner was very helpful and went out of her way to assist us. I would definitely return on another visit. The location was farther from the center of town than expected. But it was very quiet and the views were incredible.
Great location with easy walk to Univeristy and shops andd restaurants downtown. We got 2 bedrooms with a separate living/kitchenette area for a reasonable price. Guest laundry (like many places in NZ) available and the hostess moved our clothes to the dryer for us.
