Very accommodating staff and clean design. Overall a great hotel for the price. no
Room appointments, cleanliness, breakfast room very pleasant, drinks in the evening, pretty lobby, great location for our events. Needed more light in the room at times. It was hard to see where the hotel was, coming in from the highway because only one side was marked well.
The staff was incredibly friendly and the happy hour after a long ride on complimentary bikes was a nice way to end the day. I missed having a hot tub or sauna.
For several years we have been using Best Western Corte Madera Inn as a favored place to stay when visiting the Bay Area. We like the shopping that is convenient to its location. San Francisco is just a hop away down the 101 and across the Golden Gate. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, also well appointed. Staff is courteous and helpful, and the free breakfast at the restaurant next door is really good. Some of the rooms sometime seem a little dated, but this is not a deterrent to us. It's a great location.
Front desk people were great we got in a little late. They kept the pool open for us which was a lot of fun. Then we relaxes by the fire pit. Great hotel just outside of San Fran.
Seedy, bad smelling rooms. Did not feel clean. Never again.
Convenience, price Motel-style set-up.
Rooms were quite big and comfortable. Many extras on the propert in an excellent location.
Bed was great. Room big. Good breakfast. Huge pool. Right off freeway. Would stay again. No elevator. Sink/vanity not enclosed in bathroom. No bar.
Location and price It was a little seedy
Good value at a decent hotel. Couldn't access the closet - one of the queen beds blocked it.
Good price and location if you want to explore Muir woods etc. Bathroom was not very clean
The personale was very friendly, but there was not what I call a breakfast .... Only coffe and a smal cake. Breakfast could be much better otherwise they should write what it is.You feel a little cheatet with this , because they advertise it as breakfast and it is not.
The bed was good. The room seemed clean and we did not find bugs anywhere. This motel was located very close to our family member we had come to visit, so in spite of the bad shower and T.V. noise, we would strongly consider using it on a future trip to CA. The shower head was terrible. We could get warm water for only a few moments and then it became scalding hot and if turned it down, it was freezing. The pillows are way too high for both of us, so we slept with no pillow each night. Walls very thin and our immediate neighbor kept the T.V. going till like 2 in the morning and then again by about 6 they would turn it back on. Hard to sleep with the noise.
Close to fine dining. Had a very comfortable bed. There was dead bugs in the bathroom for 4 days and the windows would not shut good had bad freeway noise. Also trash from people before was seen. I would not stay there again.
The price, which you can't beat. Close to the high way, and the noise from the road was pronounced. I had to keep the fan on high all night in order to sleep.
The shower was amazing and the beds awesome No hot water at all on Friday morning waited over a hour and still nothing but ice water in the shower. When hot water was available shower w as awesome
The location worked well for me, close to Sausalito. The housekeeping staff did a good job with the room. Hotel is dated and the carpets and furniture are worn. No restaurants in the immediate area. It is overpriced for what it offers. Far better to stay a bit further north - better value.
the location the food the service the room - the view and the spa couldn't drive to my room
Location was excellent, with views of nearby Golden Gate Bridge. San Francisco skyline was also visible across the water. The room was large and very comfortable. The setting was lovely and peaceful. The meals, though well presented and tasty, were overpriced. If we stayed there again, we'd probably go out to restaurants in Sausalito.
Everything! Top notch from the staff, to the room, to the grounds, to the food...I could not ask for a better experience, and I cannot wait to return!
Great historic location. No airconditioning....bad on warm night. Breakfast was expensive and not good.
The staff were very welcoming and professional. The bar was good fun and the food excellent. Breakfast was also very good. Our room was a long way from the bar and restaurant. Walking between the two in heavy rain was no fun! Sometimes housekeeping were a bit slow.
Location was excellent, nice and clean surroundings, excellent views Layout of room, little odd, tv cabinet was facing the door (no place to sit in front of tv). Almost all programmes on tv had a fee associated, which really surprised us (especially, since the daily rate is towards higher side)
The location is awesome. It's so close to so many activities during the day and night. We only did a small fraction of the activities available. Also, the restaurant and bar have fantastic food and atmosphere. The guests next door to us had a dog that barked often. We found that the hotel staff had left two bags of earplugs in the room. Was this a solution to the barking dog problem?
The view of Golden Gate at night is priceless
We equally enjoyed the view from the glass-enclosed porch of our historic building of the San Francisco skyline and the stunning panorama of the bay under the Golden Gate Bridge.
Beautiful location. Large comfortable room. My room was a long walk (down a steep hill) from the restaurant and parking.
The bathroom worked as it should. There was hot water in the shower. The drains and toilet worked fine. My wife called the morning we were going to check in to confirm we'd have a room with a queen and double sized beds. She was told we're confirmed and that wouldn't be a problem. When we got to our room that night we had quite a surprise - the room had the double bed we asked for but the other bed was a... twin bed! I called the front desk to ask why there was a twin bed in our room. "Your room has a queen and a double". "I'm standing in my room right now and there's no queen bed here". "How did you book your room?" "Online". "We're not responsible for what the website promised you". "Oh no, no no. YOU just told me I had a queen bed. I am asking YOU to make good on YOUR promise of a queen bed". Silence for about 10 seconds. Then "We're all booked up for the night and there aren't any other rooms". Just out of curiosity, I checked the hotel website and there's no mention anywhere of a room with a twin bed. The next morning I went to the front desk to ask for a call from the manager to refund a portion of my bill. The front desk clerk asked what my complaint was and I told her about the beds in the room. "That room has a queen and double beds". "No it doesn't. It's a twin bed". "How did you book your room?" "Online". "We're not responsible for what the website promised you". "I've heard. But YOU told my wife yesterday we'd have a queen bed. YOUR employee last night told me that room had a queen bed and YOU also just told me that room has a queen bed. I am asking YOU to make it right". Loud sigh. "I'll have the manager call you". It's been two weeks Mr Manager. Still waiting for that call....
We stayed at the Mill Valley Inn to take advantage of nearby hiking at Mt. Tamalpais. The spacious, comfortable room was clean and overlooked a small audible stream. The staff was friendly and helpful. Located on a quiet street in Mill Valley, we were able to walk everywhere and take advantage of the lovely restaurants.
We spent a long weekend here and it was so relaxing. The staff is extremely helpful. Even the rooms without the best views have redwoods just outside the windows so you can lie back and admire the towering trees. The rooms are clean and nicely decorated, the soaking tub is small (not big enough for two). If you're looking for a low-key restful place, you should certainly consider Mill Valley Inn.
Better than my first hotel, had a comforter and heating. Wasn't fancy but for the price it had everything you need, bed, good pillows, fridge, bathroom with working shower, TV and cable. Did have burn spots in carpet but that didn't hinder anything. Mmmhhh only thing was battery's in the remotes.
Super retro aesthetic, easy access to gas, grocery, In n Out burger, sites around Marin County, etc. Staff was nice, appears to be family run which was cool. Definitely outdated but we expected as much for the price. Right on highway so couldn't keep windows open and there was no AC, just a fan. heater seemed to linger on even after we turned the air off. First AM housekeeper knocked kind of early
Close to shopping. Gross and dated. Smoke detector was not hooked up!
The bed was comfortable, it was clean. Our unit had full kitchen, but no utensils, pans, kettle,or coffee maker! Couldn't use it. I doubt other units have one. Right on 101 freeway, Could have been more comfortable with a little more effort - paper towels in holder, an entry mat - for rain footprints on tile, nothing to wipe up with. Bathroom shelf, since it only has a small sink. Light-blocking curtains. $$$
location Everyting is too old for the price. The room had NO ac. Should be a $-- a night room.
Comfortable bed, cheapest in area. Noisy by hwy, older, no queen bed, only doubles although reservation said otherwise. Small room (squeeze around bed to get to bathroom).

The beds are very comfortable and the rooms are very well maintained.
convenient location very run down, old amenities. close to highway
The price range. It was located near the place where the wedding of my granddaughter was to take place. Not really.
The location is perfect for what we wanted to do, which is the only reason I booked a one-star motel. The price is OK for the area. This is one of the seediest places I've ever stayed. One star is generous. The owners are Indian and not very communicative. The room was too small, no air conditioning (and triple digit temperatures) and not very clean. But the location and price-OK
Nothing was good about this place except that it is close to highway 101. Everything. The hotel was dirty. There was no maintence done. For example, the clothes hanging rod was missing and the hangers were just laying around. You could not open the only dresser because the bed was in the way. I could go on but you get the idea.
The convenient location and clean bedding were the only things positive about this place! It was old and dingey with dirt on the walls in the bathroom, mold in the shower, leaky shower head, no fan or window screen in the bathroom, the towels were gray and stained, the wall heater was covered with rust, dirt, and lint, you could see day-light through the wall mounted air conditioner, there was only one key per room, burned out light bulbs, non-functioning outlets, no ice machine or soda machine, shoddy repairs in the bathroom, and the couple managing it spoke very little English!
The hotel was close to the center where my training occurred so that was helpful. It was helpful to have a small frig and microwave handy as well. the hotel was dirty with broken tiles in the bathroom, filth on the walls and doors, the towels had holes in them and were so thin it was ridiculous.
The hotel was very affordable compared to other hotels in the nearby area and was right next to the freeway that takes you to downtown San Francisco. The facilities are a little old but fairly maintained. For the low price you can't demand luxuries, especially in an area where everything is kind of expensive.
This motel was close to Book Passage, where I was attending a multi-day event. It is walking distance to a Safeway for purchasing groceries and ready-made meals, and a RiteAid drugstore for purchasing toiletries. The sheets and towels were clean (although the sheets did have cigarette burns in places), the furniture dusted, and the carpet swept. The hotel provided ample soap, shampoo, and toilet paper. The room rate was very inexpensive compared to the few other motels/hotels close to Book Passage. I stayed here in spite of other reviews on that account. The room condition was run-down. There was an aroma that never went away The bathroom sink was falling off the wall and the drain leaked onto the floor. There was a small kitchen area with a battered refrigerator and a gas stove, but there were no cooking utensils, glasses, or even a roll of paper towel. The owner did not understand my request for instructions on accessing the in-room wireless internet connection It's hard to say whether this room was an anomaly. If you are on a very tight budget, you can probably overlook the negatives -- you're only sleeping there.
It's proximity to where I needed to be at daytime. The room smelled foul. Bed covers and linen had sigarette burn holes in them. The drapes were in bad shape and did not close entirely. The bathroom fan/light made an incredible noise. ( we decied to not turn it on, when possible!). The upstairs floor (outside) consisted of bare plywood, and looked not too sturdy. My recommendation would be to do a complete overhaul.
Walking distance to all of the cool spots in Sausalito. Staff was very helpfull.
This is a fun place to stay really close to the center of Sausalito, excellent restaurants close by, excellent views of San Francisco, easy access to Golden Gate and the Marine Headlands park.
Great location, wonderful room, really just an exquisite little place. Loved the wine and cheese at 5:30; had to check out before breakfast, though. :( The glum, unfriendly guy who checked us in. Thankfully, he was replaced a short while later by a smiling, friendly woman.
