Ventajas: Lovingly restored 17th century cottage was everything I hoped to find. My husband and I loved it so much, we canceled our next two reservations and stayed 4 nights!! The house has been restored using as much original material as possible while still providing modern, luxurious amenities!! Property was lovely with olive trees, apple trees, terraces to walk in, and a pool with a modern pool house. It is just a couple of miles outside Ponte de Lima which is a beautiful, little town to visit. I fell in love with the place and never wanted to leave!!! Highly recommend!!!!

Desventajas: Absolutely nothing!!!

Ventajas: Todo perfecto! El desayuno riquísimo, sobre todo el bizcocho casero! Pedro es el perfecto anfitrión! Viajamos con nuestro bebé de 7 meses y la cocina estaba abierta y disponible para usar la nevera, el microondas... Fue perfecto! Las camas muy cómodas!

Desventajas: Todo fue perfecto.

Ventajas: The quietness and the beautiful surroundings of Quinta da Agra were exactly what we were looking for. Also the extreme attention to detail and the comfort of the facilities were a plus. The owner is extremely knowledgeble about the area and such a great host. We will come back soon.

Ventajas: Una quinta con todo el encanto del campo y lo antiguo pero con instalaciones modernas como los baños, la piscina y sus casitas anejas. El dueño encantador y el desayuno abundante y con todo casero. Un sitio ideal para ir en grupo, porque la finca es enorme con lugares para hacer barbacoas o charlar a la sombra.

Desventajas: Aunque está muy cerca, hay que coger el coche para ir a Ponte de Lima

Ventajas: Excellent in every respect- very helpful and informative owner, beautiful gardens, lovely pool, fabulous breakfast, comfortable room, great get-away but very close to Ponte de Lima town.

Desventajas: Nothing!

Ventajas: An old stone farmhouse set in vineyards beautifully restored by Pedro, the owner, in a lovely gardens with its own spring and roses growing up the wall. Room was spacious with antique furniture. Pedro and Daniela made us feel very much at home and it was hard to leave. Able to cook our own meals in their kitchen.

Desventajas: It was hard to find, but only 3km from Ponte de Lima. Light in room was low and hard to read by. No shampoo in the bathroom

Ventajas: Breakfast was set in an elegant dining room. It was a traditional Portuguese breakfast with freshly squeezed Orange Juice from the garden.

Ventajas: The place is amazing! The atmosphere, the nature, the owner and his family. A small city Ponte de Lima is in 15 min driving is also very nice, there are some good restaurants.

Ventajas: Room had a fabulous view. Antique furniture was a bonus

Desventajas: Bed was very squeaky! Shower needed upgrading. Bath slow to fill. No wi fi in bedroom ( due I think to very thick granite walls )

Ventajas: Wonderful stay in a stately home. Excellent facilities. A little bit out of town but worth it for the view. The owner was wonderful and took the time to show us around the house and give us the history.

Ventajas: Staying at this grand estate was a dream ... A palatial yet comfortable and inviting home steeped in centuries of family history, magnificent views of the vineyards and the valley beyond (along with sunsets and moonrises), plentiful estate-produced fresh vinho verde, and the most hospitable and generous hosts ... We couldn’t have asked for more.

Desventajas: Can’t think of a thing.

Ventajas: The palace is extremely well restored and surrounded by beautiful scenery. It’s very tranquil and has the added bonus of a swimming pool with views to die for, agricultural fields and farm animals which the kids love, a creek, a few ponds and a chestnut grove. The owners were very welcoming. The breakfast is delicious. The bedrooms and bathrooms are comfortable and traditional and in keep with the palace. No need for modern luxuries and TVs when you are in such a place! Ponte de Lima is only 10 minutes away. We will definitely come back one day!!

Ventajas: El alojamiento es espectacular, una quinta entre viñedos, ideal para relajarse y disfrutar de sus jardines, de su piscina, de sus habitaciones etc. El personal es encantador (Luis nos dio una formidable acogida). El propietario del Paço, el Conde de Calheiros, D Francisco, es una persona afable que nos contó algunas anécdotas de su interesante vida, haciéndonos sentir como invitados en vez de huéspedes. Volveremos.

Ventajas: Beautiful property in a stunning setting with THE most helpful people around us. Could not have asked for anything more.

Ventajas: Beautiful historic manor house with extensive gardens. We were greeted by the Count whose family has owned this property for centuries. He took us, and a group of walkers who arrive on the same day,on a tour of the house and hosted us for a dinner in his dinig room.

Desventajas: La comunicación al teléfono que nos facilitaron para cualquier necesidad no resultó buena, uno de los días nos quedamos sin desayunar por ello.

Ventajas: very nice garden, very quiet but close enough to the centre.

Ventajas: Everything is superb in this beautiful country house, which is quite close to the village historical centre. Staff is very smiley, facilities are clean, the pool area is delightful and breakfast is a plus. The room is more like a small independent house. It's charming and comfortable. One can notice the care in every detail. There was fruit and wine available in the room. Lovely getaway.

Desventajas: Estaba un poco alejado, pero ya lo sabíamos al reservar

Desventajas: Hubo un error entre lo reservado en la pagina y la reserva final. Elegimos habitacion doble con desayuno y cuando llegamos nos comunicaron q noestaba incluido y si lo queriamos teniamos q pagar mas. No nos dieron alternativa y nos dieron a entender que si no lo demostrabamos era un error nuestro.

Ventajas: Desayuno abundante y correcto. Muy amables, tanto en el check-in, ya que llegamos más tarde de lo previsto, como en el servicio del desayuno.

Ventajas: Really clean accommodations, comfortable bed and silent throughout the day. The staff was always friendly and helpful

Ventajas: This place was a very nice family run guest house. The owner does daily laundry and IRONS the sheets and towels. The sheets were carefully and beautifully embroidered. The breakfast was quite simple, but nice. They prepared a small breakfast sandwich when we asked for it. All of the family was helpful and friendly.

Desventajas: One small complaint was the bed: a typical hard European bed. Otherwise everything was fine.

Ventajas: Very friendly staff, nice family run hotel. Location a little out of town but parking facilities are safe and secure, and it's only a 5 minute drive. Rooms and bed are very comfy, clean and with modern washing facilities. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here.

Ventajas: Beautiful appartment- very large rooms, kitchen, living, all traditional style like the villa itself. The owner was very kind, lots of interesting tips and advices. Breakfast was great - served in the villa in one of the amazing rooms. Historic setting everywhere. The swimming pool was excellent with a marvelous view.

Desventajas: Absolutely Nothing - we where there during the week with extreme high temp. >40°C...no air conditioning, but the owner immediately brought a nice fan...all well and good sleep...the villa itself remains very cool due to the 1mtr thick walls.

Ventajas: A beautifully restored historic stately home. Rooms are very spacious and tastefully decorated in the traditional style making them most attractive and comfortable. Spotlessly clean and close to the charming town of Ponte de Lima. Lovely continental breakfast in the dining room which adjoins lounge. Our host Tristan was most welcoming and shared lots of local knowledge Staying here was a real treat.

Desventajas: Dump room climate, bad breakfast, pool in a really bad condition

Ventajas: El desayuno muy rico, un lugar con pocos huéspedes donde se puede descansar muy a gusto. Buena piscina, excelentes vistas panorámicas.

Ventajas: The very friendly owner welcomed us with a drink. The beautifully located pool could be used at any time, even late at night. Breakfast was included and rich. The apartment with two bedrooms, a spacious kitchen and a terrace was perfect for our family with two teenagers.

Ventajas: Beautiful mansion with splendid view over the valley. Lovely breakfast in stylish room. Tristao was a very friendly host who gave us some helpful advices.

Desventajas: Not a big issue but the bathrooms in the apartment could do with an upgrade.

Desventajas: Our cottage overlooked a very noisy house where a man mended his car all weekend with the radio on full blast. The cottage bathroom needed updating with new shower curtains etc. The wifi was not available in the majority of the guest areas.

Ventajas: Ignazio and Anna were very welcoming and the contact with them was super warm-hearted. The guesthouse is in the middle of a vineyard on a small hill from where we had a stunning view. Breakfast was varied, with homemade cakes and fruits. There are many places in and around the house to relax and it is a good starting point to visit Ponte de Lima, Viana do Castelo and the National Park of Peneda-Gerês.

Ventajas: Beautiful Villa with gardens and a pool. Very nice host!

Ventajas: It was one of the best spots we have ever stayed. Amazingly relaxed, in a 17th century family run manor house. We were blessed to be only guests for 6 days. Old classic style. Landlord and spouse made us feel at home. Every morning had amazing breakfast with stunning valley view. Fantastic pool to chill and relax. For dinner Ponte de Lima or Barca do Lima each 9km away.

Desventajas: La recepcion el primer dia , era dificil saber la ubicacion exacta

Ventajas: Tranquilidad, con un entorno que merece más de un paseo. El edificio desborda historia, una restauración estupenda. La habitación genial, camas cómodas. La piscina por la tarde va de lujo. Lourdes nos ha tratado genial, sobre todo a la hora del desayuno. Muchas gracias! Bien situado para ir en coche a diferentes puntos del norte del país y bien cerquita de Ponte de Lima. Recomendable 100%

Ventajas: Very peaceful and relaxing.

Desventajas: When I booked I requested two rooms with two double beds even if one room would have two beds pushed together. We were not given that option. Also, when I booked online I opted to pay later at the property as I wanted to pay with a different method of payment. We were unable to do so. Also if I wanted a formal receipt I had to leave my information and get it later. It wasn’t a problem but clients should be aware of that.

Ventajas: Incredible setting with fantastic views, a wonderful swimming pool, and close by to Ponte de Lima. Both staff and other guests friendly but discreet. A great breakfast in a sunny room, with fruit, yoghurt, bread and pastries, excellent home-made jam, cereals, eggs and bacon, coffee and orange juice.

Desventajas: The beds are a bit small and not that comfortable. WiFi was dodgy, despite having wifi extenders in the rooms in which we stayed. That's a just a configuraion issue, not difficult to clearup. The biggest disappointment was not being offered some kind of dinner option, which meant we had to either eat out or keep purchases in the noisy fridge in tyhe room. A larger fridge in a common area would be a better option.

Ventajas: The property is huge and lovely with plenty of charm the breakfast is really good with scrambled eggs, fresh OJ, home made jams, cheese... The pool is fabulous

Desventajas: I asked for twin beds after booking the room and the room I had was way smaller than the one expected. If I had known that, I would have kept the double bed because the room was quite small and basic so it was a bit disappointing compared to the pictures I saw.

Ventajas: Beautifully situated just outside town,this is a tastily restored manor house in landscaped grounds with a fine swimming pool and an outstanding breakfast in an elegant room.

Ventajas: The grounds were spectacular, the views of the lake , orchards, vineyards, swimming pool and statuary were amazing, the manor and the guest rooms were beautiful snd impeccably decorated, The staff were extremely helpful and hospitable. Breakfast was the best we have had on our travels through Portugal.

Ventajas: Breakfast offered a great variety and was beautifully presented on tiered silver trays and crystal vases. Dinner was delicious and the the wait staff was attentive, though the process of ordering ahead was presented a bit forcefully. I had a lovely massage, though it was a bit difficult to find the remote treatment room on my own. The grounds are beautiful.

Desventajas: Overall, not impressed. Receptionist extremely snobby, every request was treated like it was a huge inconvenience to help me. From telling me where the massage was, to inquiries about dinner, requesting a taxi, etc. Room was noisy - could hear toilets flushing, doors slamming, conversation in the next room. My room was not particularly clean, there were wet drops on the bathroom floor that came up yellow when wiped with a tissue, carpet looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in a while, there were peanuts and crumbs near the bed. Charging €4.50 for 750ml of water they filter onsite is not the best practice, especially when there is no price list available to notify you of charges. I left feeling a bit baffled why this hotel has won best in category awards, they have a lot of room for improvement if they want to be a luxury hotel.

Desventajas: We have stayed in several Small Luxury Hotels of the World in our travels. This hotel just didn't meet the standard. The decor was kitschy and cluttered. The room was musty.

Ventajas: Loved the environment! It was aesthetically pleasing and exuded comfort! The staff is incredibly helpful and attentive!

Ventajas: The room! So gorgeous, feels like we were in the jungle

Desventajas: The staff. They cant call it 5stars hotel with service like that. 1. The day we check in, i stepped on a broken glass, thank god i didnt fully step on it so my feet is fine, but that a proof they dont clean the room properly 2. We book for an outdoor picnic but because it has to be at 1pm or 2pm, we chose 1.30pm. The weather was 34celcius, we couldn’t continue so we bring out barely touch foods to our room, (which was only 8steps away) to enjoy it later. Then, one of the staff ask us to give back the basket ALSO all the food we have paid. 3. Very minimal activities they offer, and minimal information they give about the area.

Ventajas: Relaxed environment. Breakfast is good and staff is friendly. The interior pool, though small, is nice and good for winter trips.

Desventajas: Really overpriced. It is a hotel by a national road with traffic. Small entrance, massive ramp to climb up to reception. The decoration is kitsch, cheesy, excessive. The room in underwhelming. The whole area planning seems off and strange and slightly too small and crowded. Oddly there is a small area with a lonely poney.

Ventajas: The Arc My Hotel has included room facilities across from their main site and we stayed here. We liked everything about our room. The staff were delightful. Positioned on the north side of the Bridge this is an ideal stopover for Camino Pilgrims, and we would have no hesitation recommending to Pilgrims and holidaymakers alike.

Desventajas: The only thing we would suggest they consider - and this is a constructive comment: The day we stayed there was a deluge. Umbrellas to get from the main hotel to our rooms would have been very welcome.

Ventajas: La finca es maravillosa, con una fantástica plantación de castaños, robles y olivos. La piscina es también genial.

Desventajas: Alguna sombrilla delante de nuestro apartamento.

Ventajas: Instalaciones muy amplias en plena naturaleza. Limpieza de las habitaciones. Areas comunes con billar y futbolin gratuito.

Desventajas: El area de piscina deberia tener algo mas de mantenimiento. El wifi no llega a los apartamentos. El desayuno esta incluido en los apartamentos pero te lo preparas tu mismo.

Ventajas: Es un lugar maravilloso para desconectar... puedes desde dar un paseo por la finca... o leer en las zonas comunes de la casa, jugar al tenis, la piscina, ver las estrellas... y si te apetece un poco más...tienes publecitos cerca para visitar. Y recomiendo ver las fotos de la finca cuando se compró.

Ventajas: A fabulously restored rural property set in a beautiful green and lush estate. Very peaceful and tranquil, as was our host, Victor, who really looked after us.

Ventajas: Localización, finca y edificio muy bonito. el trato del personal fue excelente.

Desventajas: Seguro que en verano es muy recomendable, pero en invierno la habitación que nos dieron olía mucho a humedad, estaba fría y no era nada confortable. solicitamos un cambio y nos lo dieron sin problemas. pese a que el trato del personal es excelente debían cuidar más ciertos detalles con respecto al cliente: , decoración de la habitación, elementos del baño como ausencia champú, habitaciones que no tenían la calefacción encendida previamente, lugar del desayuno poco confortable...

Ventajas: el entorno,al estar en plena naturaleza

Desventajas: muy mal, los canales de television, pues solo funcionaban 4, entre ellos 2 para niños

Ventajas: The quiet, the amount of different things to do ( outside pool, inside pool, a lake with boats, tennis court, climbing, or just relax. The house as a little kitchen and the bathroom is very good, the beds also very nice.

Desventajas: The parking space is outside the walls, but there is alot of space even a heliport if you need one :D.

Ventajas: Breakfast was good and hotel accommodated me being gluten free. Great location in Ponte de Lima; nice clean room with comfortable bed and outside balcony and seating area.

Desventajas: Would have expected more spacious seating or comfortable lounge area downstairs; room was a little worn out, some nice touches like a bottle of water in the room would have been appreciated.

Ventajas: The location of this hotel was great, within close walking distance to the waterfront, markets, restaurants and shopping. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious.

Desventajas: The hotel is looking a little tired. Early check in is not an option.

Desventajas: Mucho calor por la noche en la habitación, el baño el suelo nos pareció poco higiénico, y lo de spa crea confusión porque esperabamos circuito de agua. El desayuno muy normalito.

Desventajas: Pagamos y fuimos por el Spa y no tenían activo ni el spa, ni el baño turco ni la piscina. Lamentable. Las vistas? Era una planta baja. La tarjeta de la habitación no funcionaba y tuvieron que darnos una tarjeta maestra. Demasiado caro para lo poco o nada que ofrecen.

Ventajas: The staff were attentive but not intrusive. Breakfast was ample with a good choice of foods. The bedroom was very clean, although the bath a little tired.

Desventajas: No view from our room. The lounge, bar area was unattractive in comparison to the dining area-so we tended to go to our rooms after an evening meal.

Ventajas: La habitación està bien.Tiene una nevera vacía en la que podéis poner vuestras bebidas ó también os la puede llenar el hotel por un precio no muy caro.El spa està bien,la sauna,la piscina con una temperatura agradable aunque si hay mucha gente,para los huéspedes guardan sólo una calle,lo que resulta bastante justo.Es la calle dónde se hace pié en gran parte de ella.Es una piscina grande.Hay que llevar chinelas y gorro obligatoriamente.El personal es muy agradable.El desayuno està correcto.

Desventajas: El colchón es duro e incómodo. La habitación no està insonorizada,pues escuchas a la gente por los pasillos,lo que dificulta el descanso.Exteriormente,se escuchan los coches,pero es un sitio tranquilo en general.

Ventajas: very helpful staff, chillout music in background, nice landscape and fresh air around

Ventajas: El diseño de la habitación era bonito, el desayuno era buffet y no estaba mal. El sitio era tranquilo y tenía garaje cubierto para dejar el coche.

Desventajas: No hay enchufes al lado de la cama, y la habitación que nos adjudicaron olía a tabaco, un olor ya impregnado en las paredes. La clave del wifi, para conseguirla, tuvimos que bajar a la recepción a solicitarla. Se escuchaban todos los ruidos

Desventajas: No restaurants close by, however hosts supplied pizza and salad; more that I could eat

Ventajas: El lugar está muy cerca de Ponte de Lima, un pueblo precioso. La habitacion es muy amplia y cómoda, todo está impecable, y el desayuno una delicia. Pero sin duda, lo mejor es el personal, encantador se queda corto, nos sentimos como en casa.

Ventajas: Dinner was provided at a cost and served by a very cheerful woman. She also packed a breakfast so we could leave early. Thanks.

Ventajas: Very clean. Staff worked really hard to please us. Provided a very generous dinner and breakfast.

Desventajas: Location was outside of town.

Desventajas: too hard bad with some kind of plastic sheets which cover the matress. it was a little bit cold at night

Ventajas: The owner offered to make us diner as they don't do it as a norm.

Ventajas: Good sized room with a verandah .Friendly staff.

Desventajas: No shops nearby to purchase food. Reception said they were too far away. Although when I left in the morning I found a cafe just up the road on the way back to camino trail.

Ventajas: The property is very beautiful and it is full of history. The family has done a good job to improve it and allow hosts to enjoy it. The hosts are very nice and we enjoyed being shown around their private quarters.

Ventajas: la casa tenia una finca alrededor que podíamos utilizar

Desventajas: la cama muy incomoda la calefacción no funciono

Ventajas: la zona exterior es muy agradable, el jardin, la piscina...El entorno es muy tranquilo y silencioso y está cerca de un precioso pueblo como es Ponte de Lima.

Ventajas: Really nice guesthouse with pool, sun terrace, bbq area and big garden in a nice neighbourhood but it's impossible to find the house by yourself. We had to ask some locals who knew the way. Owner doesn't speak any other language than Portuguese, also a bit tricky... But it all worked out in the end and we would definitely come back.
