Great location. Friendly staff. Prompt to respond to requests. Exceptionally good food- surprise: buffet food was actually better than restaurants options. Lots of fun excursions and activities. VERY CLEAN BEACH! Night time shows were fun and good quality. Beds were clean and very comfortable. Near impossible to make restaurants reservation. Rooms would need more thorough cleaning and generally need updating. No privacy - all bathroom doors are see-through!
Room service was poor.
Beautiful views on the coast, the facility was wonderful and had great service. Rooms were large enough for four of us to share for a week. The resort is far from just about everything else. It's a 15 minute ride to the nearest town and $7 per person each way for a shuttle. All the adventures are at least a 2 hour bus ride, or more.
Arco Iris had a great feel to it. The pool is very nice. Richard is a super cool guy and is extremely friendly. We had to leave at 4:00 am to catch our flight and Richard gave us some fruit, muffins, and juice. He offered that up without us even asking. We were very happy with the location. You are just far enough from the noise of the main street, but still able to walk to everything. The beach is maybe a 5 minute walk. There is a walking path from the hotel to a road with tons of great restaurants. If you feel like staying in for a nice meal, they lease their dining space to one of the best restaurants in Tamarindo, Seasons by Shlomy. We traveled to 4 different cities in Costa Rica and this hotel was our favorite by far. The air conditioner in our room was kind of weak. It worked a little better at night. We weren't around much during the day so it didn't bother us much.
Nothing The place was disgusting, I should had listen to reviews bout rooms not being clean but I gave it the benefit of doubt. First the pillows had hair on them, the towels in the bathroom were like stain with paint or something and worse part is the bathroom smelled like week old sweaty clothes( not exaggerating). There was a shirt hanging on curtains from previous guest. There was a fridge but it didn't work! I left the place, there was no way I could sleep there let alone shower and use those towels. The pics are deceiving and I don't know who reviewed this place but my experience was. Awful!
Hotel Luna Llena was amazing we were traveling with a 8 month old so we really enjoyed the quiet setting, just a block away from the beach and the main part of Tamarindo, we had a car rented but didnt have to drive unless we left town. Clean rooms and friendly staff we stayed in bungalow 6, it had a loft with two twin beds and the main floor had a king bed with a kitchen and bathroom. Cable TV, we don't speak spanish but was good to have cartoons for the little one. All the rooms are centered around the pool offering food and drinks from noon-3 and 6-9PM. The landscaping was very nice, providing privacy, quiet and just a calm vibe, very relaxing, we enjoyed spending time there. Wifi signal was weak in the room, good around the pool. Beds were a little too hard for our liking.
Location location location close to nice Tamarindo beach! Staff was cordial and rooms were decent with the breakfast reasonable. Very Noisy adults only type party at bar on Friday night- could not sleep till past 2.15! Not what I had bargained for when booking the place. Facilities are ok- you get what you pay for.
I really liked the location of the hotel, even though it wasn't directly on the beach. But it was right in front, less than a 10 minute walk!! The pool area has a beautiful view of the beach to relax and enjoy. The reception office is a bit of a walk to get to but they are all helpful. They gave me advice regarding traveling by bus. The room is nicely decorated and the shower is pretty big! The bed was a tad small but overall great room. I didn't like that you couldn't order room service, or I did not know how. I also didn't like the size of the bed but I understand I booked by third party so bed type isn't guaranteed.
Really good value for the money. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. The grounds are generally fairly charming. Convenient, decent little view of the water from the restaurant pool area. The room was fully adequate. Housekeeping was good. When I requested an ironing board it came very promptly. Not right in town but a very short walk from the beach. Good restaurants within easy walking distance either way down the road. Bar serves plenty of beer and fine drinks. The rooms and overall grounds are a bit tired and dated. This isn't a high-end luxury experience. The bar/pool/restaurant are equally sort of mid-range. Nothing wrong with them, but not swanky or particularly nice. The restaurant/bar is called Crazy Monkey... that should give you a notion. Just need to have appropriate expectations.
We had a room right by pool. We were assured the pool would be closed at 10:00 pm. People kept us up until 3:00 am. A few hours later it was loud people outside the door and shortly thereafter were cleaning ladies with trash cans making their rounds. It was horrible. I didn't stay the other two nights I booked and was told they weren't responsible for returns since I purchased with a third party. When my third party tried to reach them, they didn't answer all day.
Great rooms, comfortable, modern, clean, nice pool, monkeys on the grounds! The only real issues is that all night there was pounding music I guess from a bar or club near by? Not sure where came from, but it was really loud and made it almost impossible to sleep, even with ear plugs.
