the staff were very friendly and very helpful. the rooms were magnificent very comfortable. Also the buffet breakfast was to die for! nothing it was all awesome
We stayed for the V8's and it was lovely to see the staff dressed in the V8's shirts. Everyone was friendly and we could not fault the service. Meals especially breakfast was very good. Good location in that a bus was on the door step and dropped you back at the door. Overall a good location and very quiet. There was a Gala Ball on the Friday night and we didn't hear a thing. Rooms are sound proof. There was nothing not to like about the hotel.
The staff at the front door and the rest of the staff were great The breakfast in the room down at level 1 was too dear should be 20 dollars
Apart from the relaxing accomodation, enjoyed the visits to the ,casino, loved the sumptuous breakfasts. Even the Spin Cafe provided good food at great value for money;not withstanding occassional sullen staff member.Gardens lovely and enjoyed pool area.Housekeeping Excellent.1!! Not a lot ,a little noisy when functions were on out on back lawn and pavillion, minor foibles with room; radio reception on TV - a problem,Door Keycard failure, porter absent after initail checkin;some staff members need to smile more- too sullen.Wrong Accom rate posted for last week- should be more priority for guest parking.
The can do attitude of staff Bed was very hard.
balcony, location, service, would of liked a spa:)
Rooms were spotless service was great
we really enjoyed our stay with the room well appointed and very comfortable it is a pity that the car parking facilities have been comprimised due to works been undertaken in this town
I thought the room was very modern and clean. We had a great view overlooking the mall and ocean view. We could see the casino from our room. View was lovely at night.
the restaurant, I found was the only thing I found little slow & poor, service etc etc
It was very relaxing, pool was very nice and the gardens were gorgeous. room was clean and modern and the reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Great place to stay
It was cheap and clean and modern. Lots of parking space and close to retuarants as well. The cleaning service sometimes did not replace used items, sometimes the towels were not cleaned and replaced.
clean, comfortable and cheap ( when booked through booking.com )
The unit was clean, basic and comfortable. The grounds were well kept.
The atmosphere and location made my 1 night stay very enjoyable.
The Hotel was beautiful, the hotel offered a fantastic room service menu and you did not feel the need to leave the hotel with the pool side Bar and Resturant offering everything you would need. We were staying with another couple and we made the booking at the same time, we did book 2 x Queen Rooms, however when we arrived we found one of the rooms had 2 x single beds we were able to push the beds together and this was not much inconvenince at all, however still not what we booked. We also were located on different ends of the Hotel we thought as we booked together our rooms would be much closer again not a huge inconvenince but a let down non the less. We also both had problems at one time or another with our rooms keys not working and needing to be "re-cut" the staff were very helpful however we did notice other guest also have the same problem.
Location, Atmosphere,Restaurant, Freedom
this was one of the best hotels I've stayed in because if I did not want to go any where I could sit around the pool or have a meal all on site and it was a friendly place to be not enough tea bags or real milk but that is the same everywhere
Nothing, we left after the first day as my husband had a bad back and we came home sooner. On the cancellation policy we printed out from Bookings.Com it said we would be charged a night if we did not show up or did not give 24 hours notice of turning up. After one nights stay we told the hotel we were leaving but they charged us for 2 nights as they said we did not give them 24 hours notice, this is a bit ambiguous as we did show up. They knew why we were leaving and we did also stay at the Mercure Cairns but unfortunately that did not matter. See above
The only thing i liked about my stay was that it is centrally located. The noise from other residents simply closing door. I think it has to do with the design.
The quality of kitchen and bathroom facilities and the good storage for kitchen and bedroom
Relax... nice long weekend away from home Everything was good but could supply more packets of washing powder, washing up liquid for people staying longer then 2 nights.
Staff were every friendly and helpful, we had brand new apartment, big bedroom with wardrobes, good size living room with balcony and full equipment kitchen, we could use swimming pool, jacuzzi, gym and sauna
Great location, great rooms,
Facilities like the pool and gym were easily accessible, kitchen was fully equipped and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was also reasonably nice and the air conditioning worked very well. The carpet edge where it met with other rooms had the positioning tacks unprotected, which meant that walking barefoot from room to room was painful as the nails stuck into your feet!!! The kitchen tap extended further than the sink so water splashed all over the bench and the dishwasher did not work.
The apartment was immaculate, possibly never used. Spacious, modern and clean. There was an element of style over substance eg bedside lamps but no socket nearby, taps which stretched over the entire sink which made them impracticable and no sink plug. Limited TV and a phone but no phone line. Not suitable for holiday makers as a lengthy walk away from the coast. The site is still being developed and the site adjacent is awaiting development which makes it unsightly as an overlook.
Central location - supermarket city sights etc Design of the building - our bedroom had a lot of light entering during the night, from outside lighting on the verandah. This came in from window with venetian blind over the wardrobe, There was no way to block out the light
Excellent hotel to reside in. Quiet most times and handy to everything We did not have any bad points about the Ibis.
The room was clean. It was all we needed for the night and checking out at 11 am was great No shower cap was provided
The relaxation,. If anything needed fixing it was done ASAP. The service was quick. The knowledge of the girls maning the desk was above excellence. We had a long stay (19 days) with the hotel and would have appreciated a chest of draws or tallboy to put clothes that couldn't be hung up into. Myself and my husband stayed in the one room.
Staff were friendly and efficient. Bed was very comfortable. Location great. Always had parking. Part of the reason staff were good was their efficiency but they spoke very fast which caused me discomfort when I booked in as I was rushed and flustered at that time. The way the bathroom door opened against the shower door. The centre of the desk where I wanted to sit when on the computer (so I had enough desk space) had the table leg right there.
Good location, friendly staff. We have stayed in this hotel for only one night but had a good time. When we checked in at 11.00 our room was not ready yet but within 20 minutes they have arranged that a room was cleaned for us and we could enter. Thanks !
Well maintained hotel within easy access to function rooms and general entertainment Smoke from the smokers occassionally wafts through the building
Our stay at the hotel satisfied our needs for proximity for our connection to Magnetic Island. There could have been more sugar sachets and more milk serves. Not really a complaint but more of a suggestion.
We were able to get a park The rooms need a serious overhaul. Our room had marks and chips all over the walls, mould in bathroom. Would not pay $134 to stay there again.
Staff were helpful and friendly and responded 24/7.Quiet rooms as requested. Dark color walls
The location of the hotel was good, with a variety of places to eat and drink nearby. The free parking was secured at night, which was great. The room was outdated - think tragic 1970's tropical look - and the lift smelled like a nursing home cleaning liquid had been used aplenty. Then there's the fridge - old, battered and need of defrosting (I have no idea what the house-keeping/management are doing). And then we got hammered for a credit card surcharge just to top it all off. Not a good experience - which sadly seems to be par for the course for Rydges hotels...
The room was not so much unclean as tatty the bottom of the door was all split and the hand basin chipped or marked ....very basic shower with curtain not the sort of thing I expected from Rydges.
very good value for money
Close proximity to restaurants Aging decor
Friendly staff Rooms old and facilities old eg television etc
Location is good for shopping, restaurants, marina. Due to wife's illness & return home advised by dr. staff were most polite & anxious to help in any way possible. Hotel is tired - in definite need of total renovation. Will not recommend until renovations are completed
Access to venues. Although our room was serviced on Saturday morning the sugar and milk were not replaced.
Good front desk service and Restaurant. Great location. Undercover parking The television was an outdated analogue set with poor reception. The coffee cups are tiny there were no mugs. The cleaners trolley sat in the same place in the hallway outside the room for over two hours
mini bar I stayed at one in Sydney and it was disgusting then thought I would give it another chance and my partner and I both agreed that we would not stay at another rydges again due to the fact that looks like it had the same things in the room for 50 years not very clean. building nice on the outside but not on the inside. one of the lifts smelt like rotten eggs. I think you should lood at redecorating and puttin new bed spreads on the beds. not relaxing at all
Friendly atmosphere Needs and refurb
