We ate in the hotel restaurant both nights that we stayed there and had a very tasty meal at a reasonable price. The staff were very friendly and helpful (especially Egle). Breakfast was superb. The hotel was less than 5 minutes walk from Bus stop 1 outside City Hall and in the centre of the main old town.
We stayed at the hotel twice: the night we arrived in Iceland before joining our tour and again after our tour ended . On our second night our room looked a little tired (scratched floor from bed feet), and opened from the area above the reception area so we were woken at 2.30am by a large group of guests chattering.
Great apartment type accommodation! Hotel staff amazing and helpful.
The apartments (not the main hotel) don’t have lifts and are on two storeys so could be an issue if you’re not mobile - but they were perfect for us!
We asked for another room and got it without any problems. The staff helped us with no hesitation every time we asked.

I noticed that we always had two single duvets instead of one double. This seems to be quite common in Iceland, but I can't tell why.
