Ventajas: drop off was easy

Desventajas: I made a reservation for a compact vehicle. When I arrived at the hertz location to pick up the vehicle, I was told that all of the compact vehicles had been taken. My only option was to upgrade and spend more money that wasn't exactly in my budget.

Desventajas: Reservation did not register with company bc it was done via a third party so there was not a car available for me.

Rent a wreck

Desventajas: First they wanted to give me an unwashed and uncleaned car. The second car looked like somone spilled something (hopefylly not bodily fluids) on the pessenger seat. The counter agent told me that they cannot detail the car. From the outside the car was scratched, scraped, dinged, felt like a rent a wreck for half the price. It took over an hour to get the car and get on my way

Rented the car out from under me

Desventajas: I indicated that I would be coming to pick up the car around midday, but due to a change of plans I came in the afternoon, only to be told they'd already rented out the car I'd reserved and that there were no others on the lot. The staff made no effort to show any kind of sympathy for my plight, and instructed me to call their corporate headquarters to cancel my reservation -- which I was then told I could not do because it was after my pickup time, although I was also told the car should have been held for me until the end of the day. Was eventually able to get my money back, but was ignored by Pasadena staff the whole time. Were it not for the presence of an Enterprise rental agency down the street, my entire trip would have been ruined. I will never rent from Hertz again.

Hertz refused to give me my prepaid car

Desventajas: Hertz wanted a $200 deposit when I picked up the car. They would not take my debit card, the same card I used to prepay for the car. They would not take card from one of three family members, stating it had to be in my name only. I would NEVER use Hertz.

Poor Car Selection

Desventajas: Reserved a full size premium. The only available car when I got there was a Buick Regal, which is too small. Outrageous prices for upgrades. Refused a full refund upon request ($100 deduction) because it was a prepaid reservation. Will never do business with them again!
