Ventajas: The car was just the right size and it was very clean.
Desventajas: The drop-off was difficult because there was no where to park and there were no Enterprise attendants outside to provide assistance. Otherwise my overall experience with Enterprise was very good.

Rental from hell
Desventajas: When we arrived our reservation was cancelled so Ace never sent the shuttle to the airport. We waited in the rain for 90 minutes. Then we were not told to activate a button on the key fob to deactivate a theft protection and start the car. We spent $30 on tips to strangers trying to start our car.

Get what you pay for
Ventajas: Price was good, pick up and delivery ok,
Desventajas: The car was all scratched up, the tire was low, made screeching noise braking or starting to accelerate, the it went flat cause there was a screw imbedded in the tire. They really need to check all the tires, glad I wasn't out in the Arikok park! Took an hour for someone to come and fix it, very nice man but his tools were nonexistant, tire change took 2 hours because the jack fell over, scary. Glad the man wasn't hurt! Going to think again when renting a less expensive car and Budget, had a better experience with other rental companies

Ventajas: The car they rented us, even though it was smaller than the class/size we reserved, was clean and comfortable.
Desventajas: We did not receive the size/class car that we reserved (reservation was made several months ago) and were told none was available. No apologies were offered - the attitude was just "too bad". They tried to get us to rent from Dollar next door, but we were on our one vacation of the year and felt it unfair that we would have to spend all that extra time to do another reservation and payment, plus a potential price difference. So instead, they found us a smaller car, and I had to go back and negotiate the correct price. Then, when we dropped the car off eight days later, 25 - 30 minutes later than expected, they charged me for an extra day. I think there could have been much better Customer Service. Thank you for asking for feedback.

Rough start
Ventajas: The guy giving us the car St Aruba airport was not concerned at all that right front tire was real low. I pointed this out he told me to stop at a gas station and fill it. I told him that was out of the question and I wasn't going to take a car that has a tire with a slow leak. He told me to go to the main office about a half a mile away and they would deal with it. This was pretty poor. When we got to the main office they were shocked and change your tire in mediately so it all worked out.

Budget was fine
Ventajas: Car was fairly new. People friendly. There are not many street signs in Aruba so some interior lications a bit difficult to find. Once main roads located it is fine. Phone GPS much better than local maps.
Desventajas: Windows inside were very dirty so hard to see in sun and car lights. Front car mats flimsy and dangerous as they slid up under gas pedal. Just put them in the back!

Worst Experience ever in car rental
Ventajas: Absolutely NOTHING
Desventajas: We made a reservation for a van amd when we got there there was NO van, there was also NO other vehicle that wohld fit 6 people available- we were given 0 options!!! We hace to take a small car and come back the next EVENING to get a van, disrupting all of our plans! Not to mention how RUDE the employees were, Michael was by far the rudest person!!! I hd to call Dollar US cuatomer service juat to complain because there was not even a manager in store!!

Ventajas: Absolutamente NADA
Desventajas: Hicimos una reserva para una furgoneta y cuando llegamos no había furgoneta, tampoco había otro vehículo que se adapte a 6 personas disponibles- ¡nos dieron 0 opciones! Nos hace un buen trabajo tomar un coche pequeño y volver la NOCHE siguiente para conseguir una furgoneta, lo que perturba todos nuestros planes! Sin mencionar LO GROSEROS que eran los empleados, Michael fue, con mucho, la persona más grosera. ¡me llamo hd a Dollar US cuatomer service juat para quejarme porque ni siquiera había un gerente en la tienda!

Ventajas: Me gustó la facilidad de recogida y caída
Desventajas: No era una gran relación calidad-precio, ya que no puedo decir que el coche estaba en buenas condiciones, que es lo que esperarías en los coches de alquiler. Afortunadamente no se rompió que era también una preocupación que tenía.

Desventajas: The total charge quoted to me was $221.02 for a 9-day rental. I had phoned Thrifty when I had made the reservation to inquire where the car pickup location is, and the representative stated that he believed it was the kiosk at the airport. Even the copy of the reservation stated "Free Shuttle To Car". However, when I checked in at the airport kiosk, they stated that the pickup for the vehicle was offsite from the airport, that they did not provide a shuttle to the offsite location, and that I would have to take a taxi to the pickup point. They claimed that the statement in the reservation copy that I produced at check-in was no longer in effect and that it was shown there in error. Instead, the offered to have me pick up a vehicle at the airport, but that I would have to pay an additional $24.91 USD + tax for "Airport Fee", which raised my total rental fee to $246.40 USD, an increase of $25.38 USD. I was not in a position to seek a taxi at that time, so I reluctantly agreed to accept the additional airport charge. Other competitive car rental firms that I've used for many prior years all offer free airport shuttle to offsite pickup and drop-off locations. If I had known this beforehand, I would likely have rented elsewhere who also quoted me competitive rates. Although I have rented from Thrifty a few times in the past without issues and was satisfied with their rentals, this time I feel I was a victim of erroneous advertising and a misleading claim of a bargain rate.

I was not in a position to seek a taxi at that time, so I reluctantly agreed to accept the additional airport charge. Other competitive car rental firms that I've used for many prior years all offer free airport shuttle to offsite pickup and drop-off locations. If I had known this beforehand, I would likely have rented elsewhere who also quoted me competitive rates. Although I have rented from Thrifty a few times in the past without issues and was satisfied with their rentals, this time I feel I was a victim of erroneous advertising and a misleading claim of a bargain rate.

Ventajas: The car was in good shape, drove well, very nice KIA Optima. Staff was friendly.

Ventajas: Staff was ultimately accommodating, but not quick to assist.
Desventajas: Firstly, the car was a 2016 and a piece of garbage. The door lock only opened the driver door, rather than all of the doors as it should have. Our car died on the island. We called the service number and they told us 20-30 minutes. An hour later they came, tried a jump start and battery, but to no avail. They said the car needed to be towed, and after a phone call, said they were to take me to the airport to get a replacement. I questioned the drop off point since Payless is offsite. Of course, when they dropped me at the airport, there was no one there. I imposed on the Avis attendant (Avis owns/partners with Payless) to get me a ride to Payless. There they gave me a replacement vehicle. But no one from Payless knew of any of my previous conversations with them during this ordeal. To their credit, they provided me with a courtesy discount for my troubles when I settled my account.... but only after I asked.

Desventajas: -scare tactic to buy policy direct through payless and not through kayak as we originally did. also the policy they sell is $8 more a day -we had to sign a waiver that we would not get sand in the car. i questioned this as Aruba is an island surrounded by you guessed it SAND. The lady told me not to worry that it was standard. I've rented from other companies in the past and was never forced to sign a waiver regarding sand. -the facility is about a 10 minute drive from the airport. frustrating because I specifically requested an airport based rental company. the lady played it off all surprised that it was a glitch, however it's a complete lie. - there are better rental companies on the island, i will not rent again from them unless I has to .

Desventajas: No signs for Payless at AirPort, Avis place is somehow associated with Payless, called them and I was picked up. The rental place is at least 15 miles/minutes away in Bacatera. I was told I could drop the car off at the AirPort but instead had to drop off in Bacatera and wait for a shuttle back. All this should be clear at time of reservations

Long wait time, old crappy car
Ventajas: It was not expensive, even with the extra insurance.
Desventajas: Atrociously long wait at the airport rental counter. It took us 30 minutes to fly from Curaçao to Aruba, and one hour to rent! There were four people working at the counter, with one working and three looking and a huge line of customers. The car itself was rundown, big mileage (35,000km) and very basic. I understand it was an economy rental, but I expected more from Avis.

Ventajas: The car had four wheels and transmission and brakes were working. Office was across street from terminal.
Desventajas: I had ordered an SUV but was downgraded to a KIA sedan. Car seats were smelly and full of old sun screen. Car was dented and scratced and probably at the end of it's rental life. Office was unorganized and had slow and inefficient service. personnel were not customer friendly. First trip to Aruba. Marriott hotel was great but car rental and airport experince will keep me from ever returning to Aruba.

Desventajas: Old car, very small, could barely fit all luggage and the three of us. Car engine was run off and making strange noise - did not expect this from Avis. Was just ok for small trip on the island.

Desventajas: The service was condiscending and poor. We felt like we were a burden to the staff. If they had he option of sitting there vs making sales they would gladly turn the closed over and sit around. We returned the car to a poorly marked airport parking lot and they refused to take the car. Instead I had to pay 10 ISD to get my car out to return it to them. It was literally 10 steps away from where they keep their own cars. It was such a bad experience I will never rent from Avis again

The windows were so dirty on the inside that the defroster didn't work, the brakes squealed when they were applied, the fans that blow the A/C worked intermittently and the passenger side seat belt wouldn't tighten. Lastly the starter seemed to be on it's last leg as it often took two or three times to start the engine.

Ventajas: Avis did not have a car ready for me upon arrival and said my reservation was not valid. It took over an hour of arguing to secure a car as I had my reservation in hand Same upon return. Almost an hour to check out with a claim that there was a dent in the car but in reality the dent was on the car when i pick up the car. The entire experience was extremely stressful with my blood pressure rising. The stress is not worth it! I feel like I was scammed. I have rented cars for over 30 years all over the world, this was the worst experience ever!
