We had a spacious room at the front of the building on the second floor. (Surprisingly quiet, save for the tolling of the Westerkerk bells--and you have to love that!) The furnishings are nothing special, but the room was spotless, which made us very happy. WiFi is free and the signal was strong. Breakfast was basic European style (great croissants!) in a comfortable room next to reception. The Jordaan neighborhood is pretty and comfortable. Trams to the main museums are nearby and easy to navigate. Cafe de Prins on Prinsengracht is cozy and friendly for casual lunch or dinner. Take a canal boat tour--especially if it's cold or the weather is bad. You'll be warm and dry as you cruise through all the different sections of the city. There are a couple of boat tours based on Prinsengracht near the Anne Frank House. And definitely visit the Anne Frank House too! Staff at the hotel are friendly and very young. It's a relaxed atmosphere and very un-hotel-like...you can almost feel as if you live there.Ventajas: Location is excellent, right around the corner from the Anne Frank House and a Canal Bus stop. Good, casual restaurants nearby. Lovely historic building and a real neighborhood feeling.Desventajas: Lack of an elevator was a little problem with luggage, and the steps are steep and narrow. But when you consider that people have been climbing those steps for hundreds of years it puts things in perspective.
