Me gustó muchísimo el hotel. El lugar es muy lindo, las habitaciones están en medio de manglares y la playa es preciosa, con peces que nadan a tu alrededor. Nos tocó una de las habitaciones remodeladas, que estaba muy bien. El baño amplio y nuevo, muy cómodo. Algo que me preocupaba antes de llegar era que hubiese mosquitos, por ser zona de manglares y llevé off por si fuese necesario, pero la verdad es que tuvimos suerte y, a pesar de que nos tocaron algunas horas de lluvias, no tuvimos problemas en este aspecto. Con mi marido veníamos de haber estado previamente en un hotel de lujo, donde toda la comida era a la carta, en restaurantes gourmet y platos realmente exquisitos. En este hotel la comida no era de ese nivel y no todos los restaurantes estaban abiertos todos los días, ya que los iban rotando. Creo que este es un aspecto que el hotel podría mejorar. No obstante, si se tiene en cuenta la relación precio/calidad, sigue siendo un hotel altamente recomendable. Yo volvería de todas maneras.
Que es solo para adultos y no hay niños correteando todo el dia por alli... Se nota. Muy buen servicio tambien. Zona tranquila, no como Cancun o Playa del Carmen. Las habitaciones nuevas estan muy bien. Lo estan reformando. Las viejas no son muy confortables. Pedir que os pongan en una nueva. Sino las camas no son muy comodas.
Muy buena ubicación, con unas instalaciones muy correctas, comida exquisita, personal encantador y todo a un precio buenísimo. Un sitio perfecto para descansar, disfrutar del sol, la playa y el buceo.

En general el nivel de los servicios y el personal muy competente y atento. Muy bien los restarurantes, buena atencion. Excelente equipo animacion.El nivel general es muy alto. Muy recomendable. Destaca mucho en negativo el servicio de Intranet. Lo primero es un gran contraste que sea un servicio de pago en un hotel all inclusive de este nivel. Ademas hay solo 2 PCs disponibles y la navegacion es terriblemente lenta y poco operativa. Algo a corregir de manera urgente, sin duda.

El hotel es incrible, la playa es excelente, no hay niños por lo que es muy tranquilo. las suite no es de lujo pero el hotel tiene un verde incleible y unos restaurantes buenisimos, he estado en cancun mas de diez veces y es el que mas me ha gustado de todos los hoteles. La distancia del aeropuerto es de unos 60 km por lo que conviene alquilar coche, el taxi es un poco caro, alrededor de 80 euros, el alquiler de coche es muy economico, no alquilar en hertz nos estafaron, cualquier minuscula tonteria que tenga el coche al entregarlo, te cobran reparaciones gigantes y el seguro que te hace no cubre nada!! Ni el robo del vehiculo!! Cuidado. TERMINAMOs pagando el doble!! Estar atentos, ellos saben que no los puedes denunciar porque no hay policia federal cercana y uno tiene el vuelo, en fin... es la primera vez que me pasa
Todo, variedad de restaurantes a la carta, spa, zona chill out y que sea exclusivo para adultos. Además la playa es ideal para baño, paseos, con aguas transparentes. Por decir algo, en varias ocasiones no había disponibles toallas de piscina

La playa de arena blanca era precioso, el hotel era sorprendente en su diseño. (La costa de Tulum es magnífica). El complejo tenía todas las cosas que una persona podría pedir en un todo incluido. La comida en el restaurante de buffet era en su mayoría bien hecha, usted siempre puede encontrar algo bueno a pesar de unos "fallos" que difícilmente se pueden evitar en gran escala, como por ejemplo una operación. El restaurante al lado de la playa ofrece un increíble buffet para aquellos que no desean salir de sus trajes de baño. Los jardines del hotel eran preciosos y bien cuidados. El personal estaba bien e intentaron hacer mi viaje cómodo. Era nuestra primera vez en un todo incluido y no me gustó la idea de que no había personalidad en el lugar. Parecía bastante institucional. También el día que llegamos nos dijeron que no podíamos comer en cualquiera de los restaurantes de especialidades durante toda nuestra estancia. Habíamos pagado por lo menos llegar a algunos lugares diferentes de comedor y tuvimos que comer en el buffet cada cena. Volvimos a la programación de la cena para buscar efectuado pero no sirvió para nada. Parecía que había muchas "reglas" para mantener a los clientes en línea. Había algas secas y la playa estaba cubierta de algas y escombros en frente del complejo. Había que caminar en vasos de plástico, bolsas de plástico, etc, para llegar al mar. ¡Ay!

La comodidad del hotel, la atencion y amabilidad del personal y la relacion precio calidad hacen del hotel un lugar muy agradable y acogedor. Ideal para ir en familia o con amigos. La ubicacion para personas que no tengan auto es algo complicada ya que el hotel se encuentra aislado en un lugar medio inaccesible y los medios de trasnporte publicos no son frecuentes.
La oferta de servicios correspondio a la descripcion de los mismos. La variedad y calidad de la comida. La atencion del personal. La ubicacion ideal y bellisima.

Half way thru our stay we had already decided that we wanted to come back. The grounds are beautiful and the staff are the most friendly I've ever experienced. You could easily spend a week or more there and never get off the grounds. There's plenty to do. But if you do want to venture out, there are many things to do within just minutes of the resort. The rooms were huge and we'll kept. We just loved it. The are some tiles missing in the pool and I happened to cut my foot on one. Nothing too bad but it did hinder which shoes I was able to wear. Also we had an issue with our private shuttle to the resort that we booked via the link on the resorts Web site. There was no one waiting for us when we arrived and our paper work didn't have the shuttle services name on it so we didn't know what to look for. Fortunately someone finally was able to point us to the correct shuttle stand after us trying to make our way through all the other people who approached us.
There was a lot of seaweed in the water in the area when we went, and the resort did a great job of cleaning it up. The pool and beach were great. Front desk was terrible. We waited 2 hrs at check-in to get a room with 2 beds as per our reservation. Upon leaving, our safe stopped working and it took them over an hour to send someone who did not fix it and then another hour for 2 men to show up and fix it. The water in the mini fridge tasted like tap water and gave us stomachaches. And the restaurants were all terrible.
Once you got to the room it was nice and beds were comfortable. Spa and gym very good Towel cards used and so people who lost their towels would steal yours, stressful to worry about stolen towels, sprawling, long walk to beach and pool from just about every room so I wouldn't consider it beachfront, every room is a garden view room, no elevators, restaurant reservation systems hard to figure out and again stressful. They don't realize that stress free is what vacations are all about. Food very average. I would expect these problems at a 3 or 4 star hotel but they claim to be 5 out of 6
I would like to give thanks and dues to Mexican hard working people in resort who work hard to make us comfortable. Yes, I'm paying them but not everything has to be about money. Rooms are clean, services are acceptable and food is good. No opinion about alcohol since I don't care about. Resort is large and it's a good place to go for a long walk. Now about "Luxury" what makes this resort "Luxury" is proximity to the ocean and beach. There are same units in the resort but they are no different then the "Luxury" units the only difference is distance to the God made luxury ocean an beach. Would I go again? Yes, only if the smoking situation is improved. The biggest issue I have with resort is the smoking policies and lack of enforcement. There should be segregation between two groups. I'm not going to lecture here anyone about harmfulness of 2nd hand smoke. I came to enjoy fresh air and not the smell of tobacco. Another place is where smoke is an issue is transportation cars where people just sit and puff smoke in your face. In my opinion lack of rules and enforcement on smokers tells me that the only thing that resort cares is money. This is my biggest turn off with the resort and if I had to book again I would look to resorts that have enforcement non smoking rules.
We have stayed at Bahia(Coba) twice before. This is the first time at Sian Ka'an. Great time. Adults only at the hotel and beach area are the only way to go. The buffet at Sian Ka’an is the best of all the buffets. The service is top notch. We are planning our next trip. We will go back. Yoga for my wife at the Wellness Center and golf for me at the Riviera Maya Golf Club. Sitting by the waters. What else can I say. Love it.
Landscaping and service. Staff all worked hard to make it a nice place and a nice stay. Too busy, guests and staff. Trolleys were very noisy and had too much exhaust. Highway noise. Loud service carts on paths by rooms, walkie talkie noise, too many trucks and carts on walkways.

Stayed here for 8 days recently. First, the staff is friendly and the service good. The rooms are good, not the best I've ever had but definitely acceptable and the amenities plenty. Sian Ka'an has the best buffet of the 4 hotels on the property. As a guest of the Sian Ka'an or as a Privelege Club member you get access to all the other properties amenities as well but vice versa. This property is not on the beach but only about a 10 minute tram ride away and is adults only, kids would get bored at this property. However their Akumal, Tulum, and Coba properties are great for families and kids. We got the Jr. Suite Supreme on the ground floor with a hot tub we never used but the room is larger than the regular. The rooms are good, not the best I've ever had but more than sufficient. They keep the fridge refilled every day with 2 beers, 3 small liquors, 2 cokes, 1 sprite, 1 fanta, 2 large bottles of water. They also include complimentary tea and coffee in the room, Twinings and local cof...
I stayed at the GBP Sian Kaan in November of 2012 for 8 days. It's a good ~1hr drive from Cancun International Airport. The resort grounds were beautiful, and check-in went very smoothly, even though we arrived a little before their standard check-in time. Our bags were delivered to our rooms quickly and without incident. The rooms are more like suites, compared to many of the places I've been. The pictures of the resort show them with a room divider to make a separate living room/bedroom, but the divider in our room was disabled (nailed). I stayed in a garden-view room, and the terrace was nice, as was the jacuzzi. The room was large, clean, with a comfortable bed, well laid out bathroom (no tub), nice sitting area and decent mini bar. It was cleaned regularly, and a closet safe was supplied for valuable. The resort grounds were well maintained and the pools were easy to access and very clean. Sian Kaan is not on the beach, but more about that later. Two pools had a pool bar located...
Visited GBP Sian Ka`an from 17-24 Jul. As advertised hotel is great from the check in to the check out. Rooms are comfortable, grounds are very clean. Very quiet but if you want a day of more activities you can share with the other GBP(Akumal,Coba,Tulum) just 5 min trolley. Private beach for Sian Ka`an guest. More than 10 a la carte restaurant to choose from and 4 great buffet restaurants. 24 hours snack bar. Close to Tulum Ruins, Xel-ha, Explorer parks.Premium drinks. Reverse Osmosis water thru hotel for that reason you dont have to be sacered of getting sickj. Overall great vacation at GBP Sian Ka`an 5 star/gold crown hotel.
Food was very good and the service. Adults only No beach had to take shuttle service to the beach.
We just loved the area. The beach was clean, staff was friendly, BUT the food was horrible. Breakfast good, lunch and dinner we did not care to much for. If I did have the chance to go again we probably would. A good vacation and you don't put on much weight>>>
My wife and I stayed at the Barcelo Maya 2/17/09 to 2/23/09 and thoroughly enjoyed it. We have stayed at many all-inclusives in Mexico and this was the best. It is a huge complex that is interwoven with lovely walkways through meticulously groomed grounds. Although they have removed a huge chunk of the original jungle (developments do that) they have left much of the jungle intact with iguanas and birds wandering through and with signs telling about the critters. They also encourage recycling and seem to have a foward thinking environtmental look. It was fun seeing and interacting so many European folks and there influence (not just the men are topless). Though they may smoke more, we were in an entirely smoke free building, and the restaurants have smoke free areas so that was not a problem. The food was fine and abundant, service was impeccable, cleanliness was great. Wonderful beach...probably about 1-1.5 miles long, great for running and walking. Great gym, great snack bars, great ...
Got off to a bad start in Cancun had 3 planes land at once and only one girl to get everyone thru customs. Resort was too far away from airport. Would never use Olympus Tours again (stay way from them) the cab fare would have been 1/2 of the amount that the two of us were charged. After dropping off one group our van broke down we were stuck on the side of the road while the driver was flagging down any bus that came along after 20 minutes in the heat we finally flagged down a taxi and paid to get to our hotel. We landed at 3:00 pm and finally got to our resort at 7:30 pm. The staff did not have a record of our payment I booked thru travel website and had a copy of my payment email with me thank god. Room was nice grounds were beatiful. Our safe was broken, we called the maintenance department and they came right away and fixed it. Quite a few of the staff did not speak English at all. Front desk does not make change in US dollars you can only get pesos. The food was terrible same fo...
This place has it all. The beaches were absolutely fantastic. So beautiful. The pools were absolutely fantastic. The grounds were so beautiful and manicured. The rooms were incredible - large, VERY clean, beautiful. Plenty of activities for folks of all ages. I went with my sister in law who loved lounging in a chaise on the beach and going to the spa, my adult sons (it was their birthdays) and 2 of their friends who loved the nightlife, the water sports and the girl watching, but I also saw plenty of others older and younger with children who ALL seemed to be having a great time. Although there were many people the complex is SO big you never feel crowded or cramped. The food was good. Be for real - when you are serving so many all thru out the day you have to expect mass production. I thought they did a great job. Easy access to many of the sights. All in all - WE WISH WE WERE THERE NOW!!!

Had a grat time, the beach and the whole resort was beautiful. Very friendly staff who would go above and beyond for you. A few areas which could be improved, the bed was hard as a rock, but then again i didnt sleep much anyway ;) The food at the buffet was pretty bland but they had quite an assortment of food to choose. The best place to eat was Captain Morgans Grill. Room service was good too and pretty cheap. The bars inside was nice and well stocked, however poolside bars werent stocked well. The A/C worked fine, the trick is to keep your key card inside the slot while you are in your room or sleeping or else it will go off after a certain time. Rooms were very clean and kept up on a daily basis. Overall, i give it an 8 out of 10.
This was our second trip to Barcelo Maya Beach Resort and this time we went with another family. The beach was beautiful and had soft white sand. Food was always available and there was lots of variety that the whole family could find something to eat. Loved not cooking the whole vacation. The grounds are beautiful and tropical and we loved walking around the place after dinner at night. Rooms were big enough for all 4 of us to stay in one room and they were very clean. Loved all the non motorized sports being included in the price. Wish the motorized ones could be included also. Felt very safe at the resort and did not mind the teens walking around without us. There was enough to do at the resort that we did not need to leave the resort to go anywhere else. Just loved relaxing on the beach. It is such a good value for your money. We would love to go back again.
This is a beautiful property, but that is really where the good stops. It is a long ways, approximately 50 miles south of the cancun airport, has very few english speaking employees, the grounds are huge and requires a lot of walking to go anywhere including to eat or get a drink. The buffet is just ok, but caters to the south american clients which means you have to look hard for something you can eat. Breakfast is good. The beach is beautiful, but there is no drink service on the beach and there is no drink service at the pool other than gpoing to the bar. Don't tip anyone. Your service is no different. I saw no one else tipping, so I stopped after the third day.
Maybe not the lap of luxury, but clean, friendly, amazing beach, great snorkling right off the beach, variety in meal choice, and the kids loved it. Super waterpark for kids and good kids-club. Good price and no long line-ups for meals or at bars. Would stay again.
I have gone to Barcelo Maya Beach & Caribe and will continue to go back. Really good value for the money and one of the most beautiful beaches around. One year we were upgraded to the Barcelo Colonial & Tropical which is a little more updated and has indoor/air conditioned buffets but I pay for the beach, not the room and the Beach & Caribe is so much better. The other side is more rocky and less shade is provided my the immature palms. The rooms are basic but meet all of your needs and they recently upgraded the bedding/mattresses which makes a huge difference. I don't hesitate in the least to recommend this hotel to all. A good time will be had!
We were actually upgraded when we arrived to the Tropicale, but I have to presume that the hotels in this complex are generally similar. Buffet food was reasonably good - not amazing, not terrible, and the steakhouse we ate in one night was pretty good. The grounds were pristine and gorgeous, and service was attentive although not always prompt. I can't imagine having a bad time here, and I'll definitely be back!
The trip started with the rude front desk staff. no service. no follow through. The floors in the rooms were filthy, the linens stunk the pillows and beds were as hard as rocks. The tv controllers in both of our rooms did not work. The air conditioning in one of our rooms was broken. The safe was broken. Several of the lights did not work. We reported these to the front desk several times to no avail. The bellman up front was supposed to have a van waiting for us one day alas, they did not schedule as planned either. bar service is very slow. on several occasions we had to serve ourselves. Some wait times 20-25 minutes. This is not a four star hotel. Neither is it cheap. On a 1-10 scale I would give it a 3.
The hotel is all right, it is really small and there is not enough events to keep you busy (they repeat a lot every day). The restaurants are just Ok, I bet you can get a better place with much better food for less money. The hotel pictures does not really show what you really get. We pay for ocean view and we get only a view of half of another apartment and half trees and some blue spots. The Italian restaurant is quite good but the other ones are just Ok. Be prepare to expend a lot of money because any event is really expensive. For the dolphins I really advise you to go to the Marine and do not use the one close to the hotel.
We just returned from staying at Dreams Puerto Aventuras. We LOVED the resort! ALL of the employees were so very nice/friendly/fun. It was a great experience. The entertainment staff is unbelievable!!!!!!!!!!! We had way too much fun! The food was great also. Lots of activities if you want to keep busy instead of just laying on the beach. All the employees were the best. Twice a day maid service (without asking), great Spa, shopping close by, never a dull moment!!! Our only complaint, which is not the fault of the resort, is the noise level late at night and into the early morning hours. The party people/late nighters liked to congregate right below our room on the steps leading out to the pool area and it was very hard to sleep. We got up and said something to some of them and called the desk a couple times. The lobby area was very noisy too during that time. Unfortunately, you can't fix stupid and some people just don't realize there are people trying to sleep after midnight.
Only one complaint, but I feel it's fairly significant... My time is valuable. Only half of the restaurants are open on any given night. This resulted in waiting an hour and a half to get seated for dinner or being stuck with going to a buffet. I get it, if you only open restaurants on select nights they can reduce costs by not having to staff a couple of them. Additionally, the delay in seating encourages people to go to the far less expensive buffet where the food was average at best. I've stayed at the Dreams in Puerto Vallarta and was ecstatic about my family's experience there. Upon check-in this time, we were told that our room wasn't ready and we'd need to wait about 20 minutes. We came back in 25 and were told it would be another half hour. We waited the additional 30 minutes and STILL had to wait another 15 minutes. The staff in Puerto Aventuras was INCREDIBLE just like in Puerto Vallarta, but managements decision to cut cost in staffing at the expense of a vacationer's antici...
This was a great place to stay. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome every day. The entertainment provided ranged from a rock concert on the beach to magicians and clowns. The food was good, the room was good, the scenery was good, and the beach was great. There is a reef in front of the hotel which made for great snorkeling. We walked to the marina and the shops about everyday. We walked down the beach to a couple other resorts to look around and quickly decided that the Dreams was the best by far. This resort is VERY kid friendly which makes it a hands down choice for families. We will definitely go back!
Great resort. Friendly staff. Food quality is amazing(especially at Brazilian restaurant). Plenty of activities for kids. Professional night entertainment (not like most hotels that give you hotel staff shows). Pool was quite dirty especially later in the day. Beach was nice considering it is a Mexico coast line. Definitely will go back.
Our stay was for a wedding we attended. The hotel was smaller, but still provided a lot for the size. All the restaurants are included with no reservations, but the food was good compared to great. Portofino was the best. The buffet was just eh ok. So, there's a bit of trade-off there. The room service was great and always came when quoted. There was no pressure to tip-but we did. There were more kids here than we preferred, but there were kids in our wedding party. It was a fantastic wedding venue location. Location was great overall. Premium liquors are served. Make sure to book a transfer because no taxis will go that far from Cancun. We dove the Cenotes, went to Tulum, and went to Xel Ha with ease. Overall, good time.
I expected more luxary from a Dreams resort and more entertainment choices. What they did have was good they just did not have enough variety for a 9day stay. Our room was adequate but it did smell strongly of mold and on our last day we actually saw mold on the ceiling of the bathroom. Staff were fun and friendly. Food choices very limited and portions very small. Others at the resort we met said that the Cancun and Cabo location Dreams are definitely better
We started off on a bad note with this resort. Arriving on a Friday, the resort was ok, but we realized quickly that we should have booked an adults only (we have no kids). It just so happens that the resort offered us a promotion to switch to one of their adults only sister resorts (Silversands or Maroma). No strings attached, the offer was that we would stay the night at Dreams, then check out in the morning and be transfered to whichever resort we picked. In addition to this we would receive a voucher for 6 free nights at the resort. I had heard good things about Silversands, so we decided to transfer there. We kept our bags packed and just kinda ho-hummed around the remainder of the evening. Getting to our room we realized the bathroom door wouldn't shut, and the shower leaked. Thinking we wouldn't be there but one night, we just dealt with it. Saturday morning we woke up, had breakfast, and headed to the main lobby to check out. Stayed 4 days on our way to Cancun. Dreams P.A. was a great way to the start of a 10 day vacation. Resort was on the smaller size which we found was a plus. Everything was just a short walk away. Checkin and checkout were very quick and efficient. Did not linger to hear the sales pitch and it never came up again throughout our stay. We had booked a marina view room but were delighted when they gave us a free upgrade to an ocean view. Thought it was our luck day until they brought in the dolphins and released them into the waterway at the marina making our original room now a dolphin view.... The pools were very clean but cold and the beach small but lovely. There was plenty of shade to be found if needed. The bar service was great and so was the food especially at Portofinos the Italian restaurant. We did have a few problems with the room. There were several times whem the toilet would not flush and most of our stay where the shower would take an hour to drain before wife could take a ...
